Longtime college coach Daniel J. Krzyzanowicz has been tabbed to lead the men's and women's soccer programs at SUNY Niagara, Director of Athletics Amanda Haseley announced on Friday. Krzyzanowicz replaces Nick DeMarsh, who led the programs for the past two seasons.

"We're happy to have Dan as part of the Thunderwolves family," Haseley said. "His extensive soccer experience and enthusiasm for intercollegiate athletics really stood out. He is going to be a huge asset for our entire department. I look forward to watching him develop a successful soccer program here at SUNY Niagara."

Krzyzanowicz comes to SUNY Niagara from nearby SUNY Erie where he led the women's program for the past year. He has over 25 years of collegiate coaching experience, most notably at NCAA Division III institutions Medaille College and Penn State Harrisburg. He won 10 regular-season conference championships, eight postseason conference titles and led his squads to eight NCAA Tournaments. A multiple-time conference coach of the year award recipient, Krzyzanowicz has had 15 former players suit up in a professional uniform and more than 40 former student-athletes enter the coaching community at the high school, club, academy and collegiate levels.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity to lead the men's and women's soccer programs here at SUNY Niagara," Krzyzanowicz said. "I'm thrilled to officially be back in the Western New York soccer community full-time. We plan to hit the ground running in pursuit of student-athletes that the program, department and entire campus community can be proud of."

Krzyzanowicz earned his master's degree in curriculum development from Medaille College, a bachelor's degree in physical education and health from Defiance College and an associate's degree in physical education from Herkimer College. He was a two-year starter on the Defiance men's soccer team and participated in both indoor and outdoor track and field. He holds several soccer coaching diplomas, including the United Soccer Coaches Premier, Advanced National and National licenses. Krzyzanowicz resides with his family in Clarence.
