Manning Propels Softball Past Niagara

SUNY Adirondack Softball traveled west to Niagara Community College for their first regional doubleheader of the weekend. The Timberwolves got on the board in the top of the first inning after Paeton Butler singled, Samantha Manning singled and Lillian Slattery grounded out, each scoring a run. A single from Maddy Wasserman extended the Adirondack lead to 4-1 in the top of the second inning. A ground-out from Slattery added one more run in the third inning. Niagara's bats came alive in the bottom of the third inning, scoring five runs. The Timberwolves tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a triple by Wasserman, a double by Morgan Randall and a single by Manning. Adirondack took the lead, 11-8, in the top of the seventh thanks to doubled by Randall and Manning.
Aubreigh DeMello led things off in the circle for Adirondack. The righty gave up 10 hits and six runs over three innings, striking out one and walking zero. Manning gave relief throwing two innings, facing twelve hitters. The south-paw gave up two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking two. Wasserman earned the win for Adirondack. The reliever gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Final score 11-8, Adirondack
