A big second inning by the Thunderwolves was the downfall in the Kats 11-1 loss in the first game of their double header with rival Niagara county Community College on Monday.
Aaron Cabrera started on the mound for Erie, lasting one and one third innings while giving up seven hits and seven runs. Austin Dietz and Grayson Giddings each had a hit for the Kats.
Game two saw Erie get on the board and open the scoring in the top of the sixth inning enroute to a 4-0 victory. Dietz, Giddings and Garrett Wilson each collected two hits with Giddings and Shane Pray driving in two runs each. Adam Staniszewski was the starting pitcher on the mound. He allowed one hit and no runs over six innings while striking out one and walking three.
