Herkimer Baseball Wins Region III Title

Little Falls, NY - Michael Wroth (Chicopee, MA) hit 3 home runs and had 6 RBI's while Brendyn Stillman (Waverly, NY) added 2 home runs and 3 RBi's as the Herkimer Generals won the Region III Baseball Championship in a 13-5 win over Niagara County Community College on Sunday afternoon in Little Falls, NY. With the win, the Generals advance to the NJCAA Division III World Series at Pioneer Park in Greeneville, Tennessee on May 26-31.
Zach Durant got the win for the Generals on the mound, going 3 2/3 innings in the game, striking out 5 and only allowing 1 earned run. The Generals were forced into a winner take all Game 7 when Niagara beat them earlier in the day by a score of 5-3.
Wroth secured MVP of the tournament while Stillman and Brandon Kruzinski (Schenectady, NY) secured spots on the All Tournament Team.
The Generals will now await their seeding and opponent for the first round of the Division III World Series, which will start on Saturday.
