Niagara County Community College rolled past visiting SUNY Broome for a Region III Western Division sweep of the Hornets on Thursday afternoon. The Thunderwoves improved to 36-5 overall and 23-1 in regional play.
Niagara CCC 11, SUNY Broome 0
Freshman right-hander Christian Young moved to 6-0 after allowing just one hit in five innings of work. The ace struck out 11 batters. Freshman Joe Milkowski was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while sophomore Laine Renaud blasted a home run. Freshman Nate Chase added a two-run single.
Niagara CCC 11, SUNY Broome 1
Sophomore Michael Colosi was 3-for-3 with an RBI in the victory. Freshman Zarley Cina finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs, while freshman Hayden Ewell and sophomore Charles Edwards were each 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Freshman lefty Alex Licata improved to 3-0 on the hill after allowing three hits and one earned run to go with five strikeouts.
Next up is a home doubleheader against Genesee CC. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. Tuesday.
