Florida trip continues with another split

Niagara County Community College picked up another split on day three of their Spring Training trip. The Thunderwolves (3-3) went 1-1 with perennially-strong Century (Minn.) College at Chain of Lakes Park in Winterhaven, Florida on Friday afternoon.

Century (Minn.) College 15, Niagara CCC 5

Freshmen Jaret Loran (double, three RBIs) and Nate Chase (home run, 2 runs scored) led the offense in a tough setback. First-year hurler Colton Fago tossed 2 1/3 innings of relief and allowed just one hit and one earned run.

Niagara CCC 11, Century (Minn.) College 5

Chase had two hits and three RBIs and classmate Brandon Nicholson added three hits in an offensive explosion. Sophomores Brett Helmbrecht and Charles Edwards along with freshman Zarley Cina each chipped in with two hits and an RBI. Sophomore southpaw Brad Wroblewski went five innings to pick up the win, while freshman Alex Licata tossed a pair of scoreless innings in relief. 

Next up for NCCC is a double-dip with Rowan College at Gloucester County on Sunday.
