Niagara County Community College swept its third consecutive doubleheader on Tuesday, knocking off Gannon JV in a non-conference road matchup. The Thunderwolves improve to 10-4 overall.
Niagara CCC 10, Gannon JV 0
Freshman third baseman Nate Chase was 3-for-3 with an RBI in the victory. Classmate Zarley Cina added two hits and three RBIs, while sophomores Charles Edwards and Brett Helmbrecht each ripped two hits. Edwards had two RBIs and Helmbrecht scored twice. Freshman southpaw Joel Krywcun earned the win on the mound as five hurlers combined on a three-hitter.
Niagara CCC 4, Gannon JV 2
Chase blasted a home run and Cina had three hits to power the offense. Freshman shortstop Brandon Nicholson added an RBI double and freshman righty Ryan Green earned the win in relief. Classmate Alex Licata, a southpaw, picked up the save.
Next up is a trip to CCBC Essex for the beginning of a six-game swing through Maryland. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. April 1.
