NCCC runs win streak to 20 games

Niagara County Community College picked up two more Region III Western Division victories against visiting Tompkins-Cortland CC to run its win streak to 20 games on Sunday afternoon. NCCC, which is receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, is now 22-4 overall and 8-0 in regional play.

Niagara CCC 8, Tompkins-Cortland CC 0

Freshman David Lyskawa threw six scoreless innings with six strikeouts to pick up the win. Sophomore Charles Edwards had four hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs. Freshman Zarley Cina ripped two hits and sophomore Brett Helmbrecht added a double and two RBIs.

Niagara CCC 10, Tompkins-Cortland CC 2

Freshman lefty Michael Eagler earned the win on the hill, striking out four. Sophomore Laine Renaud had three hits with two of them being doubles. Sophomore Michael Colosi, freshman Nate Chase and Edwards each added two hits.

Next up for the Thunderwolves is a home doubleheader against Onondaga CC. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday.
