Four Niagara County Community College players were recently selected to the All-Region III Division III baseball team by the region's coaches. Sophomores Zarley Cina, David Lyskawa and Christian Young were named to the first team, while classmate Joe Milkowski was a second-team selection.

Cina, a two-year starter in the outfield, leads NCCC with 65 hits this season. He has 16 doubles and two home runs, while notching a .389 batting average, 48 RBIs and 39 runs scored.

Lyskawa, a southpaw on the bump, is 8-1 - including four complete games - in a team-high 60.1 innings pitched. He's allowed just nine earned runs for a miniscule 1.34 ERA. He also has 95 strikeouts.

Young, a power righty who was drafted by the Oakland Athletics last June, is 5-2 with four complete games. He's allowed just eight earned runs (1.66 ERA) and struck out 80 batters over 43.1 innings pitched.

Milkowski, another two-year starting outfielder, leads the team with 54 runs scored and 26 stolen bases. He's hitting .353 with 15 doubles, six triples, a home run and 30 RBIs.

Head coach Matt Clingersmith, meanwhile, was honored as Region III Coach of the Year for the sixth time in his 11 seasons as head coach. He previously won the award in 2008, '09, '12, '13 and '16. This spring, the Thunderwolves are 43-8 and were ranked No. 2 in the final NJCAA Division III rankings of the regular season.
