Niagara County Community College swept visiting SUNY Adirondack in Region III Division III quarterfinal action this past Saturday. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, improved to 37-5 overall. NCCC will face Hudson Valley Community College at 5 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the regional tournament at Veteran's Memorial Park in Little Falls.
Niagara CCC 13, SUNY Adirondack 2
Sophomore Jarod Burmaster improved to 6-0 on the year after tossing five innings with four strikeouts. Freshman Bryan Rivera led the offense with a pair of doubles.
Niagara CCC 9, SUNY Adirondack 6
Sophomore Joe Kruszka struck out the side with bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning to secure the victory. It was his sixth save of the season. Freshman Vincent Chiarenza hit a pair of two-run home runs, while classmate Michael O'Connor had two hits and an RBI.
