NCCC splits DH with Red Barons

Niagara County Community College split a Region III Western Division road doubleheader at Corning Community College this past Saturday. Sunday's twinbill scheduled for Sal Maglie Stadium was washed out due to rain and re-scheduled for 3 p.m. Sun. May 5. NCCC, which is ranked No. 6 in the latest NJCAA Div. III polls, is now 22-6 overall and 10-2 in regional play.

Niagara CCC 13, Corning CC 0

Sophomore Alex Bish allowed just one hit over four innings of work to earn the win. Classmate Manny Montes was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while fellow second-year standout Matt Kruszka had three RBIs. Sophomores Joe Barberio and Bryan Rivera chipped in two RBIs apiece.

Corning CC 8, Niagara CCC 7

Despite a pair of RBIs from freshman Nick Spyropoulos, the T-Wolves squandered a 7-0 lead. Also for NCCC, freshman Raymond Specht was 2-for-3 with an RBI and sophomore Vincent Chiarenza finished 2-for-2.
