Niagara County Community College dropped an 11-10 eight-inning contest to fellow national power Herkimer College in Region III non-divisional action on Wednesday at the Gutchess Sports Complex in Cortlandville. The Thunderwolves fell to 21-8 overall, while the No. 5-ranked Generals improved to 23-2. Game two of the doubleheader was suspended due to weather and will not be made up.
NCCC sophomore Cal Brazier had a big day at the plate, finishing 3-for-5 with a home run, double and four RBIs. Classmate Scottie O'Bryan was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and RBI, while freshman Andrew Fairbrother went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Fellow first-year player Chris Tani was 3-for-5 with a triple and an RBI and freshman Howard Stuckey chipped in with two hits.
The T-Wolves return to action this weekend for a four-game, home-and-home series with Jamestown Community College.
