NCCC finishes T-6th; Helbig is All-American

Niagara County Community College finished in a tie for sixth place at this past week's NJCAA Division III championships hosted by the Chautauqua Golf Club. The Thunderwolves' 1,293 (331-319-325-318) total strokes left them tied with Sandhills CC. Georgia Military College won the National Championship (1,215).

Freshman Shane Helbig put together four solid rounds (79-78-77-77=311) to finish in 15th place and garner NJCAA Div. III All-American honors. He is the first golfer in school history to earn that distinction. 

Other top finishers for NCCC were: freshman Cam Eddy (T-34th; 90-82-77-77=326), sophomore Stone Skeeter (T-45th; 77-80-89-84), freshman Zach Fronckowiak (59th, 89-86-83-80=338) and sophomore Matt Bourque (T-63rd, 86-79-88-87=340).
