NCCC wins WNYAC tri-match

Niagara County Community College put together a pair of strong performances during the second weekend of Region III action. The Thunderwolves finished as runner-up at the SUNY Adirondack Invitational on Saturday and followed that up with a victory over Western New York Athletic Conference rivals Genesee CC and Jamestown CC in a tri-match on Sunday. Next up for NCCC is the Herkimer College (April 27) and Jefferson CC (April 29) Invites.

SUNY Adirondack Invitational

Sophomore Zach Fronckowiak (82) led a balanced effort as the T-Wolves finished second with 333 total strokes at Hiland Golf Club. The host Timberwolves won the event with 327. Also for NCCC, sophomore Vinny Falvo had an 83 and freshmen Ben Kolbe and Hogan Lang carded matching 84s.

WNYAC Tri-match

Lang shot a three-over par 75 to take medalist honors at Batavia Country Club. NCCC finished with 332 total strokes. Falvo shot a 78, Fronckowiak had an 80 and sophomore Brian Ailinger added an 85.
