Thunderwolves win a pair of tournaments

Niagara County Community College defended the Western side of the state by winning both the NCCC and Genesee CC Invitationals this past weekend. Friday's Jamestown CC event was cancelled due to wet course conditions. Next up is the Region III Division III Championships slated for May 14 and 15 at Timber Banks Golf Course.

Niagara CCC Invitational (WNYAC Tournament)

The T-Wolves won their home event for the third consecutive year, finishing with 330 total strokes at Willowbrook Golf Course. Freshman Hogan Lang was fourth with a 78, while sophomore Vinny Falvo was seventh with an 83. Also for NCCC: sophomore Zach Fronckowiak shot 84, sophomores Cam Eddy and Hunter Harris each carded an 85 and freshman Ben Kolbe had an 86.

The invite doubled as the annual Western New York Athletic Conference Tournament where the Thunderwolves also defended their title. Lang was medalist and a member of the WNYAC first team. Joining him on the first team was Falvo, Fronckowiak, Eddy and Harris. Kolbe was on the second team.

Genesee CC Invitational

Fronckowiak and Eddy fired matching 77s as NCCC took first with 318 total strokes at Batavia Country Club. Harris added an 81 and Kolbe had an 83.
