NCCC drops first WNYAC game

Niagara County Community College could not overcome a slow start as it dropped a 102-91 Western New York Athletic Conference contest to visiting Genesee CC on Wednesday. It was the first conference loss of the year for the Thunderwolves (19-4, 5-1), who came into the game ranked No. 10 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll. 

Sophomore guard Jamal Pollydore had a team-high 22 points in the loss, while freshman guard Donel Cathcart filled the stat sheet with 21 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Freshman point guard Randy Corporan had 15 points and six assists and sophomore wing Cory Reeves finished with 14 points and five boards.

Next up for NCCC is a road contest at Monroe CC at 3 p.m. Saturday.
