Niagara County Community College ran its win streak to 14 games with a pair of Western New York Athletic Conference wins this past week. The Thunderwolves. ranked No. 7 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, are now 17-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
Niagara CCC 99, Jamestown CC 71
Sophomore guard Jamal Pollydore stayed hot, netting a game-high 26 points as the visiting T-Wolves built up a 20-point halftime lead on their way to the big win. Pollydore also pulled down seven rebounds. Classmate William Wilson added 17 points and nine boards, while sophomore Justin Alleyne-Washington had 16 points and freshman Donel Cathcart finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Niagara CCC 104, Mercyhurst North East 73
The Thunderwolves out-scored the visiting Saints 55-18 after intermission. Five players were in double figures led by sophomore Fausto Pichardo, who finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Cathcart and sophomore Tahleek Weekes each netted 13 points, while Pollydore had 11 and sophomore center Kofi Mills added 10.
Next up for the Thunderwolves is a trip to rival Erie CC. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
