Niagara County Community College began its second-semester schedule with a pair of wins this past weekend. The Thunderwolves - winners of 10 straight and ranked No. 14 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll - are now 13-2 on the season.
Niagara CCC 80, Mercer CCC 68
Sophomore center Kofi Mills had a career day, finishing with 24 points and 15 rebounds. The Thunderwolves jumped out to a 16-0 lead and never looked back. Sophomore point guard Elijah Davy had 13 points and four assists and fellow floor general Randy Corporan added nine points and five assists.
Niagara CCC 76, Howard CC 60
Sophomore guard Jamal Pollydore had 13 points and five rebounds to lead NCCC, which overcame 27 turnovers in the win. Freshman guard LaTerrence Reed netted 13 points, while Corporan added 10 points and four boards.
Next up for NCCC is a home contest against Hostos CC. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. Saturday.
