Niagara County Community College wrapped up the Western New York Athletic Conference regular-season championship with a 93-85 road win at Mercyhurst North East Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves, who are ranked No. 19 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 22-5 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
Freshman guard LaTerrance Reed scored a career-high 21 points on 8-of-8 shooting (4-of-4 from 3-point range) to lead the Thunderwolves. Sophomore guard Cory Reeves had 20 points and six rebounds, freshman guard Jamal Pollydore netted 14 and classmate Kofi Mills finished with 10 points and six boards.
The T-Wolves have now earned the right to host the Region III Div. II Tournament on March 3-5.
