NCCC drops close game in Canada

Playing a bit short-handed due to International border restrictions, Niagara County Community College dropped a narrow 89-85 non-conference decision to host Niagara (Ont.) College on Sunday. NCCC is now 3-2 on the young season.

Sophomore point guard Elijah Davy had a season-high 17 points and five steals in the loss. Classmate Justin Alleyne-Washington added 15 points and second-year center Kofi Mills notched 14 points and nine rebounds. The Thunderwolves were hurt by 16 missed free throws.

Next up for NCCC is a home date with Lakeland CC. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
