Niagara County Community College's struggles on the boards led to a 99-63 Region III setback against visiting Erie Community College on Wednesday night. The Kats, who improved to 13-6 overall and 7-2 in Western New York Athletic Conference play, held a 54-26 advantage on the boards. NCCC, meanwhile, dropped to 15-8, 4-5.
Sophomore point guard Laterrance Reed had 16 points to pace the Thunderwolves, who fell behind 43-26 after the opening 20 minutes. Classmate Donel Cathcart added 11 points on a night that saw NCCC hit just two 3-pointers,
