Genesee Community College standout Brian Fobbs' contested 3-pointer with less than one second remaining was the difference as the visiting Cougars earned an 87-84 Region III victory at Niagara County Community College on Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves, who trailed by as many as 14 early in the second half, dropped to 13-7 overall and 2-4 in the region.
NCCC sophomore Donel Cathcart, whose putback tied the game with 19 seconds remaining, finished with 25 points and nine rebounds. Fellow second-year guard Laterrance Reed had 23 points and seven boards, while freshman wing Najee Scott notched 20 points.
Next up for the T-Wolves is a trip to conference-leading Monroe Community College. Tip is slated for 3 p.m. Saturday.
