Niagara County Community College let a late lead slip away as it dropped a 71-66 Region III contest to host Genesee Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves fell to 17-9 overall and 6-6 in Western New York Athletic Conference play, while the Cougars improved to 16-8, 8-4.
Freshman Najee Scott led the Thunderwolves in scoring for the second consecutive game, finishing with 16 points. Classmate Daunte Watson added 13 points off the bench, while sophomore Donel Cathcart had 12 points and nine rebounds. Freshman reserve Christian Nodine chipped in with 11 points and seven boards.
Next up for the T-Wolves is a road tilt at Jamestown Community College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
