Thunderwolves blow past ICA

Despite another slow start, Niagara County Community College was able to pick up a 95-78 non-conference victory over visiting Isaiah Christopher Academy on Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves (11-6) have now won eight of their last nine contests.

Trailing 45-42 at the break, NCCC began the second half on an 18-4 spurt that put it ahead for good. Sophomore guard Donel Cathcart led the way with 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Classmate LaTerrance Reed finished with 17 points and a team-high six assists, while freshman forward Christian Nodine had 12 points.

Next up for the T-Wolves in the Monroe College MLK Tournament on Jan. 20 and 21. Opponents include the host Mustangs and Herkimer College, which is ranked No. 1 in the country among NJCAA Div. III schools.
