Niagara County Community College freshman Christian Nodine poured in a career-high 20 points and 11 rebounds to lift the Thunderwolves to a 77-73 non-conference win at Lakeland Community College on Saturday afternoon. NCCC, which swept the season series from the Lakers, is now 10-6 overall on the season. Lakeland CC dropped to 1-10 on the year.
NCCC trailed by 10 at the half and by as many as 20 early on after intermission before a 23-2 run put them ahead. Bench production from freshman guards Daunte Watson (14 points) and Sincere Ramshai (10 points) was key during the T-Wolves' second-half surge. Despite struggling from the field, sophomore leading scorer Donel Cathcart still finished with 12 points and eight boards in the victory.
Next up for NCCC is a home matchup against the Isaiah Christopher Academy. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday.
