Niagara County Community College's season came to an end following an 88-82 setback to host Monroe Community College in the Region III Division II semifinals on Saturday.
The defending champion Thunderwolves finished the year with an overall record of 21-10. Erie Community College went on to defeat the host Tribunes in the finals.
In the loss to MCC, sophomore point guard Laterrance Reed had a team-high 30 points. Classmate Donel Cathcart added 13 points.
Cathcart led NCCC with 20 points and 11 rebounds in Friday night's 98-94 quarterfinal victory over Community College of Rhode Island. Freshmen reserves Daunte Watson and Christian Nodine scored 18 points apiece in the win.
