NCCC wins District title; Beilein notches No. 200

Niagara County Community College punched its ticket to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament after winning the District II Championship this past weekend. It is the Thunderwolves' second trip to Nationals in the past three seasons. NCCC, which is now 26-8 overall and seeded ninth in the upcoming National tourney, finished 6th in 2017.

Niagara CCC 73, SUNY Sullivan 72

Sophomore Dytanya Mixson hit a 3-pointer with approximately 20 seconds left to lift the T-Wolves to victory. It was his only bucket of the game. Freshman Hunter Anderson led NCCC with 16 points and five rebounds. Classmate William Kondrat added 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists and sophomore Daunte Watson poured in 11 points off the bench. The victory was also the 200th in the career of head coach Bill Beilein, now in his 10th season at NCCC.

Niagara CCC 72, Erie CC 69

Sophomore Fode Camara had a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds as the Thunderwolves held off a late rally by the host Kats. It was NCCC's first win over ECC in four meetings this season. Also for the T-Wolves, sophomore Sincere Ramsahai had 16 points, seven boards and three assists and Anderson chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds.
