Niagara County Community College split a pair of games at this past weekend's Genesee Community College Cougar Holiday Classic. The Thunderwolves fell to 10-1 overall, but dropped just one spot to No. 6 in the latest NJCAA Div. II rankings. NCCC returns to action at 7 p.m. Saturday vs. Hostos Community College as part of the annual Thunderwolves Classic.
No. 2 Schoolcraft College 50, No. 6 Niagara CCC 49
Sophomore point guard Nigel Scantlebury was the only NCCC player in double figures (11 points, five rebounds) as the Thunderwolves squandered a late lead in a battle of nationally-ranked squads. Classmate Hunter Anderson finished with nine points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals in the setback, which saw both teams shoot around 30 percent from the field.
