NCCC clips Tribunes at home

Niagara County Community College used a balanced attack featuring nine different scorers to take down visiting Monroe Community College, 79-73, in Region III action on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 15 in the newest NJCAA Div. II poll, are now 23-4 overall and 7-1 in regional play.

Sophomore forward David Petit-Homme led NCCC with 20 points and six rebounds. Classmate William Kondrat added 18 points and 11 rebounds, while second-year point guard Nigel Scantlebury continued to stuff the stat sheet with 11 points, six assists and five rebounds. Sophomore wing Marcellus Cooper chipped in with 11 points and five boards off the bench. The T-Wolves forced 18 turnovers, while only committing nine of their own in the victory.

Next up for NCCC is a trip to Batavia to take on Genesee Community College. Action is set to tip at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
