Thunderwolves romp past MNE

Niagara County Community College turned a four-point halftime lead into a huge 88-56 Region III win at Mercyhurst North East this past Saturday. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 16 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, scored 53 points after intermission and had all five starters end up in double figures. NCCC is now 21-4 overall and 5-1 in regional play. 

Sophomore wing David Petit-Homme had a game-high 29 points, including six 3-pointers, for NCCC. Classmate William Kondrat added 14 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore center Elijah Powell had a career-best 12 points and seven boards. Second-year point guard Nigel Scantlebury finished with 11 points and seven assists and sophomore guard Mike Pollard chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Next up for the T-Wolves is a trip to Jamestown Community College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
