Host Niagara County Community College finished the first semester strong as it earned two solid wins at this past weekend's annual Thunderwolves Classic. NCCC, which is ranked No. 6 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, is now 12-1 overall. The Thunderwolves return to action at 3 p.m. Jan. 4 at Luzerne County Community College.

Sophomore point guard Nigel Scantlebury had a game-high 25 points as the T-Wolves won a battle of ranked opponents. Scantlebury was 16-of-18 from the charity stripe. Fellow second-year backcourt player Hunter Anderson had a strong all-around game, finishing with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Also for NCCC, sophomore wing Marcellus Cooper and classmate William Kondrat had 12 points and seven boards apiece.

Kondrat finished with 18 points and seven rebounds as the Thunderwolves held on in a back-and-forth affair. Anderson added 17 points, sophomore forward David Petit-Homme had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards and Cooper contributed 11 points and six rebounds off the bench.
