Balanced scoring leads NCCC to victory

Niagara County Community College had six players in double figures as it earned a 102-57 non-conference win over visiting Finger Lakes Community College on Wednesday night. 

The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 15 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 10-3 overall. The Lakers, meanwhile, slipped to 7-7.

NCCC freshman Allen Fordham had a team-high 15 points, while freshman Matthew Cleveland had his best outing of the young season, finishing with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Freshman guards Jamond Jones and Lamar Lovelace each netted 14 points, while the freshman tandem of Omari Stephen and Manny Montero chipped in 10 points apiece off the bench.

As a team, the T-Wolves corralled a season-high 56 rebounds.

Devon Payton had 15 points to lead FLCC.

N-Trip returns to action at 8 p.m. Saturday for a matchup with Schoolcraft College in the annual Thunderwolves Holiday Classic.
