Niagara County Community College broke a 12-game losing skid with a 1-1 tie against visiting Corning CC in Region III action Wednesday afternoon. The Thunderwolves move to 2-12-1 overall and 2-10-1 in regional play.
Sophomore striker Grayson Dolata put the T-Wolves on the scoreboard in the fourth minute of the game after he converted a pair of perfect passes from sophomore goalkeeper Evan Rarick and sophomore midfielder Nick Walker.
The 1-0 lead stuck until the 87th minute when the Red Barons' relentless offense finally snuck one past Rarick, who finished with 15 saves. The host T-Wolves were out-shot, 16-3.
The game was recorded as a tie after the game was called due to darkness approximately five minutes into overtime. Next up for NCCC is its season finale set for 3 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson CC.
