NCCC battles in loss to Kats

Niagara County Community College put forth a strong effort before succumbing to unbeaten Erie CC 5-2 in Region III action on the Sanborn campus Wednesday. The Thunderwolves, who fell to 2-6, trailed just 3-2 until the 78th minute.

Sophomore Nick Walker netted the team's first goal off dishes from Grayson Dolata and Chuck Pfohl. Pfohl then pulled the T-Wolves within a goal early in the second half after an unassisted tally. Two Kats' goals in the final 12 minutes, though, sealed the host team's fate. NCCC sophomore goalkeeper Evan Rarick was credited with 15 saves.

Next up for NCCC is three critical regional road matches this coming weekend - at Hudson Valley CC (4 p.m. Friday), at Fulton-Montgomery CC (1 p.m. Saturday) and at Herkimer College (2 p.m. Sunday).
