T-Wolves fall to SUNY Broome

In a rematch of last year's thrilling Region III, Div. III semifinal, Niagara County Community College was upended by visiting SUNY Broome, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves drop to 2-2 in regional action.

The hosts trailed just 2-1 early in the second half when standout sophomore defender Nick Walker picked up his second yellow card and was disqualified. The Hornets scored quickly therafter and added an insurance tally in the 74th minute.

NCCC was out-shot, 25-7, with freshman Austin Sauer netting the lone goal off a pass from sophomore Grayson Dolata. Sophomore goalkeeper Evan Rarick made 16 saves in a contest, which featured 11 yellow cards and 22 fouls.

Next up for the T-Wolves is a key home Region III matchup with Tompkins-Cortland CC. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. Wednesday.
