Poor second half sinks Thunderwolves

Niagara County Community College battled to a scoreless draw for 45 minutes before ultimately falling, 4-0, to visiting SUNY Broome in a Region III contest on Saturday afternoon. NCCC is now 1-1, while the Hornets improved to 3-2.

Despite being out-shot 23-4, the Thunderwolves remained in the game thanks to a couple key saves by freshman goalkeeper John Pearson (six stops). Sophomore forward Tyler Van Buren mustered a team-high two shots, but none got past SUNY Broome keeper Adam Burns.

Next up for N-Trip is a home date with Tompkins-Cortland CC (1-1). The match is slated for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
