Thunderwolves drop contest at SUNY Broome

Thunderwolves drop contest at SUNY Broome

For the second consecutive outing, Niagara County Community College couldn't muster much offense as it dropped a 6-0 Region III road decision to SUNY Broome on Wednesday afternoon. The Thunderwolves fell to 0-2, while the Hornets evened their mark at 1-1.

NCCC freshman goalkeeper Sammy Baker had another strong game, making nine saves and thwarting several other SUNY Broome breakaway opportunities. The Thunderwolves were out-shot 19-5 in the contest.

Mateo Lata scored twice and Yuri Brich had a goal and two assists to lead a balanced Hornets attack.

The Thunderwolves return home for a pair of key regional games this coming weekend. NCCC hosts SUNY Adirondack at 2 p.m. Saturday and then Hudson Valley visits at Noon Sunday.
