Niagara County Community College opened the 2023 regular season with a scoreless draw against visiting USCAA foe Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves are now 0-0-1 overall on the young season.
NCCC freshman goalkeeper Landan Rees made six saves to earn the shutout. All-conference sophomore Jacob Korte and freshman Austin Osetkowski were strong the backline, while sophomores Joseph Jenkins and Patrick Bululu were solid two-way performers in the midfield.
Sophomore Solomon Bonane led the Thunderwolves with four shots, while freshman Sunday Munguikonasi had the team's best scoring chance early in the second half.
The T-Wolves return to the pitch at 4 p.m. Wednesday for their Region III opener at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.
