NCCC earns split with SUNY Broome

Niagara County Community College split a Region III doubleheader with visiting SUNY Broome on Tuesday. With six games remaining, the Thunderwolves are currently 11-24 overall and 9-5 in regional play. Next up is a double dip on Thursday at Monroe CC.

SUNY Broome 9, Niagara CCC 8

The Thunderwolves scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but it wasn't enough to overcome the team's six errors. Freshman Erica Justinger led the offense, finishing 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. Sophomore Ana Bryer scored twice and ripped her second home run of the season. Classmate Miranda Forti was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Freshman Bree Chambers threw a complete game and struck out eight. 

Niagara CCC 12, SUNY Broome 0

Sophomore Vicki Waugaman allowed just two hits and struck out five to earn the win. She also smacked a two-run home run. Fellow second-year player Sydney Parker was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Bryer and freshman Nicole Human both went 2-for-2 with three runs scored.
