Niagara County Community College opened Region III play with a sweep of visiting Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday. The Thunderwolves improved to just 4-17 overall, but 4-0 vs. NJCAA Div. III schools and 2-0 in regional competition.

Sophomore left-hander Vicki Waugaman threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts in the opener. At the plate, Waugaman was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Classmate Sydney Parker finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs, while both Sam Jurczak and Katey Matteson had two hits and two RBIs in the win.

Freshman righty Bree Chambers struck out 10 in the nightcap. Waugaman was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while freshman Nicole Human went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three stolen bases. Sophomore Ana Bryer also stole three bases to go with two hits and an RBI.
Next up for the T-Wolves is a road trip to Corning Community College. First pitch is slated for Noon Saturday.
