NCCC wins final four games to make playoffs

Niagara County Community College finished its regular season with four consecutive victories this past weekend. The win streak earned the Thunderwolves a second consecutive appearance in the Region III Division III playoffs. NCCC (15-26 overall, 13-7 Region III) earned the No. 7 seed and will travel to No. 2 Monroe CC at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for a single-elimination contest.

Niagara CCC 3, Mohawk Valley CC 0

Freshman Bree Chambers threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts. Sophomore Vicki Waugaman had two hits and three RBIs and classmate Ana Bryer added two hits and two stolen bases.

Niagara CCC 5, Mohawk Valley CC 4 (8 inn.)

Freshman Erica Justinger drove in sophomore Sydney Parker for the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Parker finished with two hits and two runs scored. Waugaman was 3-for-4 with an RBI double, freshman Tempestt Torres hit her second home run of the season and Bryer had two hits and two stolen bases. In the circle, Waugaman allowed just five hits and struck out 11.

Niagara CCC 2, Columbia-Greene CC 1

Chambers tossed a one-hitter with no earned runs and 11 Ks. Sophomore Sam Jurczak and freshman Nicole Human each had a hit and a run scored in the win.

Niagara CCC 5, Columbia-Greene CC 3

The T-Wolves scored two unearned runs in the top of the seventh inning to win the game. Waugaman again went the distance, allowing just one earned run to go with six Ks. Jurczak had two hits, including an RBI double and both Bryer and Parker scored twice.
