NCCC knocks off Cuyahoga

Niagara County Community College used a balanced scoring effort to top visiting Cuyahoga CC, 98-74, in non-conference action Friday night. The Thunderwolves improved to 4-0 on the year.

Sophomore guard Peyton Butts had 17 points, five rebounds and four assists to lead the way for NCCC. Classmate Alliyah Gillespie added 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists from the point-guard spot, while freshman center Alexis Brown finished with a career-high 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Sophomore guard Courtney Kaczor had 13 points off the bench and freshman forward Nina Starkweather notched 10 points and nine boards. Second-year wing Taliyah Hopkins pitched in with 10 points.

Next up for the Thunderwolves is a home date with Lakeland CC. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
