Host Niagara County Community College raced out to a 47-13 lead at the half en route to an 89-35 win over rival Erie CC in Western New York Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves improved to 24-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play. NCCC will be the No. 2 seed and take on the third-seeded Kats in the Region III Div. II Tournament, which is set for March 4-5 at No. 1 Monroe CC.
Sophomore guard Jenna Faulkner netted a career-high 18 points to go with four assists and four steals. Freshman center Diamond Fedrick scored 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting, while classmate Neraelyn Trueheart had 12 and sophomore guard Peyton Butts finished with 10 points and seven rebounds. NCCC had 23 assists on 34 made field goals.
The T-Wolves wrap up the regular season at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when they travel to Mercyhurst North East.
