T-Wolves win a pair over weekend

Niagara County Community College rebounded from a tough loss with a pair of resounding victories this past weekend. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 20 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 16-2 overall and 1-1 in Western New York Athletic Conference play.

Niagara CCC 77, Genesee CC 46

Sophomore guards Courtney Kaczor and Taliyah Hopkins combined for 23 points and 11 rebounds in the conference victory. Freshman center Alexis Brown added 10 points off the bench, while sophomore guard Emily Benes notched nine points and nine boards.

Niagara CCC 81, Roberts Wesleyan JV 61

Hopkins led the way with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals in the non-conference win. Freshman forward Nina Starkweather finished with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Brown had eight points and 10 boards.

Next up for the T-Wolves is a WNYAC tilt at Jamestown CC. Action is set to get underway at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
