Hopkins earns All-American honors
Niagara County Community College sophomore guard Taliyah Hopkins was recently honored as an NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American. She is just the second player in Coach Nate Beutel's tenure to earn that distinction, joining Jaclyn Welch (2013-14).
Hopkins averaged 13.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game for the Thunderwolves, who finished 26-5 and advanced to the Region III Division II championship game for the second consecutive season.
Hopkins, who was a Region III Division II first-team selection, helped NCCC win 54 games over the past two seasons. As a freshman, Hopkins was a second-team choice.
