Niagara County Community College used a strong third-quarter surge to slide past visiting Lakeland CC, 69-45, in non-conference action Thursday night. The Thunderwolves, who out-scored the Lakers 27-16 in the decisive period, improved to 5-0.
Sophomore guard Taliyah Hopkins led NCCC with 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Classmate Alliyah Gillespie added nine points and freshman center Alexis Brown finished with eight points and six boards. In all, 13 players reached the score sheet.
Next up for NCCC is a date with unbeaten Potomac State College. Tip is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
