Thunderwolves knock off GCC

A balanced scoring effort with four players in double figures pushed Niagara County Community College to a 72-53 Region III victory over visiting Genesee Community College on Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves improved to 12-7 overall and 4-2 in regional play.

Sophomore Neraelyn Trueheart paced the T-Wolves with 19 points. Classmate Diamond Fedrick had 18 points and 15 rebounds, while freshman Kendra Lawton finished with 16 points, 11 boards and six steals. First-year forward Shania Clark added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

NCCC finished with 26 offensive rebounds on its way to a whopping 46 points scored in the paint.

Next up for the Thunderwolves is road contest at top-ranked Monroe Community College. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
