NCCC wins twice at Garrett tourney

Niagara County Community College won a pair of games at this past weekend's David K. Martin Showcase hosted by Garrett College. The Thunderwolves have now won four games in a row, heading into Tuesday's matchup with Finger Lakes CC. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at FLCC.

Niagara CCC 76, Potomac State 45

The Thunderwolves had five players in double figures led by tournament MVP Neraelyn Trueheart, who finished with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists. Dakaylah Winfield and Diamond Fedrick each had 12 points and six boards, while Shilah Parker netted 11 and Alexis Brown had 10.

Niagara CCC 85, Garrett 45

Sophomore Shyana McLeod had a season-high 19 points and nine rebounds in the win over the host Lakers. Trueheart, meanwhile, finished with 15 points and five steals. Kendra Lawton, an all-tournament selection, added 12 points and seven boards. Sophomore Madison Sullivan continued her consistent play en route to an all-tournament selection as well.
