Niagara County Community College used a strong fourth quarter to open up a close game and earn a 77-60 Western New York Athletic Conference victory over visiting Jamestown Community College on Wednesday night. NCCC out-scored JCC, 29-16, over the final 10 minutes. The Thunderwolves improved to 13-8 overall and 5-3 in regional play, while the Jayhawks dropped to 14-4, 6-2.
Sophomore center Diamond Fedrick recorded her fifth consecutive double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds) since returning from injury on Jan. 20. Freshman guard Shilah Parker stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, eight steals, seven assists and five rebounds. Sophomore guard Neraelyn Trueheart had 12 points and nine boards and freshman guard Kendra Lawton added 12 points, six rebounds and five steals.
Next up for the T-Wolves is a home date with WNYAC rival Eric Community College. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
