NCCC can't overcome slow start at Jamestown

Niagara County Community College shot an abysmal percentage en route to a 73-53 Region III setback at Jamestown Community College on Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves, who connected on just 13 percent of their attempts in the opening half, fell behind 36-13 at halftime. NCCC fell to 16-10 overall and 8-5 in regional play, while JCC improved to 18-5, 10-3. 

Sophomore Madison Sullivan had a team-high 18 points and five steals to lead NCCC. Classmate Deja Johnson added 12 points off the bench and freshman Kendra Lawton grabbed 13 rebounds. The T-Wolves made just 16 field goals (24 percent) in defeat.

Next up for NCCC is its home finale vs. Mercyhurst North East at 1 p.m. Saturday.
